Inspiration is a borrowed flame.
I consider myself very lucky, to be able to reach and influence others now as my clientele has grown over the years. I often get messages from people who tell me that I motivate them, or they will tell me that I've inspired them. Or my clients inspire them. And I often wonder what they do with this "inspiration".
To me, inspiration is like a borrowed flame. A tiny little match, lit and flickering against the deep darkness of a vast room that is most people's insecurities and failures. We all have insecurities. I definitely do. It's what makes us all human.
The posts I make, or each client I run through my process - in goes the “old”, and out comes the “new”, like a little factory... each one is like a lit match, borrowed by any single person watching this show.
But how does inspiration turn into motivation and ACTION? You’ve been inspired to act, but there's only a short moment between that moment of clarity... that brief moment of positivity, before the match burns out, and actual action. It can go pitch black in a blink of an eye.
What you've gotta do is take action immediately. Gather resources like gathering paper or wood to feed a fire. So you take that match which has been given to you, and you hold it against your resources and build a fire of your own. You nurture it. You watch it grow. That's how you turn a moment of inspiration into reality.
Otherwise you'll always live in a dark room, watching moments of flickering light borrowed from other people. You'll never have your own fire. And that's no way to live.
