High-intensity interval training (HIIT) classes are designed to fire up the body to maximize results and train the body to become more efficient in anaerobic systems. Short, repeated intervals in which the heart rate goes above 80% MHR are followed by short rest intervals. Various equipment is used depending on the HIIT format.
