Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much! If you're a class taker or training client, you understand the energy of working out in a group setting and the positive impact that comes with it! For those who still spend their workouts on the floor alone, take a look at the physical and mental benefits of working out in a group:
- You hold each other accountable. Most people think that working out in a group setting is just for the social aspect, but in reality, it is so much more than meeting new people or bonding with those you know. When getting with that group that enjoys working out just as much as you do, you hold each other accountable for getting the work done. Whether they call you when you miss a class, or shoot you a text saying they haven't seen you in a while, having others motivate you will serve as a built-in support group!
- You can keep each other safe. Whether it is your trainer or instructor giving you proper form cues, or your friend spotting you at the squat rack, having others around can be beneficial for your safety! Our certified trainers and instructors are here to give you a safe and effective workout. Let us help you to achieve your best self!
- You work harder. Where are our competitive members at? Have you ever been in a class where the person next to you is completing a circuit faster than you, and it motivates you to push a little more? When working out with others at a similar fitness level, it's natural to encourage and push each other a little harder than you may do if you were on your own.
-
You make lifelong friends. We all know exercise helps reduce anxiety, depression and mental health issues, but adding a community into the mix takes that to a whole new level. We've met some of our closest friends in life from taking exercise classes together. We see these people sometimes more than we see our other friends. We have similar goals, lifestyles and mindsets. We are proud of each other, and are here for each other! This community has been what sets us apart from other fitness facilities, and we have our Edge family to thank for that.
