Drew's 8 Week Challenge

My Edge Challenge experience – where do I begin? I can remember my first meeting with Ryan like it was yesterday. He asked me what my goals were for the challenge and my response was to lose 10-20 pounds and to be a healthier person. He looked at my goals and said you can lose 40-50 pounds if you try. I immediately started with the “I cant’s”. I can’t eat like that, I can’t take an Edge Strong class, I can’t run, I can’t do a push-up, I can’t because I travel a lot for work, and the list went on and on.

Well after eight weeks I have been able to change my entire approach to an I can attitude. When I began the Edge Challenge, I was the biggest wimp - I was always whining to Ryan about something. But through it all, he stuck with me and would always tell me to “suck it up”. Eight weeks into this challenge I am approaching a 40-pound weight loss and feeling great! I learned to handle business travel and dinners, picnics, vacations, camping trips and still lose weight every week of the challenge – continually sending pictures of my meals to Ryan for approval or “hope you are kidding, you’re not really going to eat that”.

I cannot thank Ryan and the entire staff at the Edge Fitness Club of Stratford enough! Many staff members took interest in my weight loss journey especially Joe, Gio, and Mason who always took the time to ask how I was doing.

Ryan – thank you for all the support, coaching me with meal questions, responding to every text regardless of how silly it may have been, the training sessions, calling me out in Edge Strong Class when I wasn’t doing a plank properly, and most of all believing in me that I could do this and be successful!
