“Movement has always been an integral part of who I am. From climbing trees as a kid to playing soccer as a teenager and teaching step aerobics through 4 pregnancies, I learned that pushing myself physically was instrumental in developing a personal sense of accomplishment, cultivating "grit" and balancing my emotions. This has served me well, especially when I was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive breast cancer. 19 years ago. I had built a solid foundation to combat the physical effects of treatment, a consistent exercise routine to aid in my emotional recovery, and a strong will and determination to beat the disease.
Working out at The Edge provides multiple avenues for me to be able to meet my exercise goals as my workout preferences have shifted over the years. These days, I mostly enjoy the community of group classes. We have some incredible, talented instructors who know their stuff and motivate me to be my best! Each October, I'm grateful that the club honors breast cancer awareness. It is a privilege for me to be able to share parts of my journey with others who have been touched by this disease. I hope that I can help to empower and inspire others to show up for themselves by including physical exercise in their self care toolbox."
