In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating the strong and hard-working women in our Edge community! We asked you to nominate a strong woman—and the responses were nothing short of amazing. The love, support, and positivity poured in! These women are proof that hard work and commitment lead to incredible transformations. Here are just a few of the remarkable women who we're nominated:
Alyssia Sims
Plymouth Meeting, PA
“I met Alyssia almost 3 years at 27 years old, full of friendliness and fearlessness. She is someone who has battle weight loss issues for her entire life. We watched her gain strength, including a 275 lb deadlift. We watched her gain confidence and take Edge Strong classes, sign up for ultimate frisbee, and go on group hikes with her fellow gym goers. Alyssia came to be around 275 pounds and now, 30 years young sits at 175 lb, 100 pounds lighter. Sparked by a nutrition seminar I ran, something clicked and a newfound ability to moderate and make smart choices daily has led to an incredible body and mind transformation.”
Marinella Mangiafico-Oblon
Meriden, CT
“Marinella has been a dedicated client since June. She has put in the hard work despite her super busy schedule. She stayed consistent, trusted the process, and followed the plan without hesitation. From 135 to 112, she's transformed both physically and mentally, and this is the best she's ever looked! I’m so proud of her dedication and honored to have been part of her incredible journey.”
Christa Consadene
Media, PA
“Christa has made incredible progress in her fitness journey over the past few years. Throughout all of life’s challenges, she has remained dedicated to her journey and never misses a workout. She is a true inspiration to many of us at the Media PA location”
Kaela Huther
Manchester CT
“Kaela has been a long-time Edge Fitness Club member and her incredible fitness journey has shown resilience and determination. She has transformed her health, going from nearly 300 lbs to losing and maintaining the weight. Over the holidays, she went skiing and tore several ligaments and meniscus in her knee. Yet, as soon as the doctor cleared her from surgery, she was back in the gym, eager to work on her recovery with her trainer, Marinell. Kaela thoroughly enjoys her time with her trainer and speaks highly of her, and she couldn’t wait to get back to start her recovery. I've never seen anyone so committed to their health journey like Kaela has been. She’s been putting in the work consistently, and every small victory is worth celebrating. She embodies the very definition of an inspiring, strong woman.”
Lisa Woltjen
Warrington, PA
“My friend, Lisa, has been my gym-friend and support system since before COVID. For the last 5 years, we have been 6 am gym partners! She is my inspiration, as I have watched her become stronger everyday and have witnessed her dedication to the gym, as she goes 6 days a week. Just knowing that I will see her in my workout classes helps me to want to be there more! Lastly, she is so kind to everyone she comes into contact with. Our instructor will sometimes partner someone new to the class with Lisa because she is a great mentor and helps them feel welcome and confident. I think Lisa is exactly the kind of member that we should celebrate.”
Kimberly Legrand
Orland Hills, IL
“Kim is a joy every time you are in her presence. She is a kind and dedicated woman with such a giving heart. Her passion for health and fitness can be seen every time she is at the Edge, where she will always greet you with a smile that lights up the club. Not only is her gym routine extremely impressive; Kim is a wife, mother and professional, who still finds the time to care for so many others in need. She is a very hands-on leader and founder of LeGrand Mission and Orphanage in Costa Rica. She and her husband followed their hearts and became missionaries in Costa Rica, Panama, & Nicaragua to name a few. And it doesn’t stop there! Kim and her husband have since gone on to create a non-profit known as LeGrand Mission and Orphanage in Costa Rica. She is always hands on bringing hope and love to others and never seeking praise or anything in return. A true EDGE STRONG woman & inspiration”
Kimberly Kerr
Washington Township, NJ
“I would like to nominate Kimberly Kerr as an Edge Powerhouse Woman. She is 31 years old, works as a full time teaching assistant and is the single mother of a one year old boy. Kimberly recently joined Edge in Washington Township and absolutely loves the gym. Being there has revitalized her quest for fitness and she tries to visit the gym at least 4 times a week. Kimberly is currently applying to graduate school to earn a Master's degree in Education. Teaching has been a life-long dream of hers and she is working hard to achieve this goal. Kimberly is also very devoted to her son Connor. She prepares a healthy, balanced diet for him each day and is very involved in his education. Having Connor inspires Kimberly to make the best life for both of them. She is definitely an Edge Powerhouse Woman.”
Latonya Chisholm
Stratford, CT
“My name is Latonya and I don’t only have just one woman to honor, I have a ton. I attend the 5:30 am classes and the group of women in those classes are absolute beasts! They attend the classes everyday and push you to be the best. Rafca, Ayeshia, Yolanda, Rose, and myself are all powerhouse women because we team up with one another in the Strong class and push each other to do better. I would like to nominate all of the Strong Women because they are all powerful.”
Beth Brillinger
Plymouth Meeting, PA
“Beth came to me in December of 2023 and spun negatives into a positive like no other. Facing the tough decision to have surgery on her torn meniscus or rehab it, she chose to strengthen through safe, effective strength and conditioning programming. Instead of sulking through her company's lay-offs, she took that extra time, took my advice and followed it to perfection. In the span of 2024, Beth has lost over 70 pounds and 20% of her body fat. I now train her husband and 16 year old son as well and she is such a brand ambassador and known commodity in every Edge Strong class. Mid 50s, change of jobs, two teenage boys, nothing can slow this hard working woman down.”
