"Being at The Edge has been the best year of my life! I have had a long journey over the past 6 years regarding my health and my weight. I found out that I had thyroid disease and almost died as a result of it. With my thyroid issues, I had no control over my metabolism and it’s been a constant struggle. I felt bad about my weight and decided that enough was enough.

I looked into Legion Transformation and started my weight loss journey. I was committed to living a healthier and better lifestyle not only for myself, but to be an example to my children. I didn’t want them to suffer with health and weight issues like I did. It was through Legion that I discovered my love and my passion for fitness. I used that love and motivation to push my daughter to take her health seriously. My time with Legion benefited me greatly, but unfortunately, life happened.

My mother-in-law had gotten very sick and it was a stressful time for our family. She ultimately lost her battle with cancer and it took a massive toll on me. I slipped back into unhealthy habits & started picking up weight again, but I never gave up that love & passion for fitness.

I got back in the gym again and this time it was to support/encourage my daughter on her own weight loss journey. I motivated her through The Edge Challenge & just as she was about to start another, challenge the pandemic and lockdown happened. I was still determined to keep my fitness momentum going with the gym closing. I still worked out & I even attempted Pilates.

I was now what I called skinny fat and I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. Once the gyms opened back up, I went back to Legion, but I wasn’t getting what I needed. I gave my 30-day notice and I began looking into The Edge. It was the best decision I had ever made. It has truly changed my life for the better. I took a chance and invested in myself. I decided to take up personal training and even though I couldn’t afford it, I made it work. I was determined to do what people said I couldn’t. I began working with my personal trainer, Tyler and he has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I’ve learned so much from him and he believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.

Tyler consistently pushed me no matter the circumstances. Whether it was my stitched-up finger from accidentally cutting myself, me having a minor concussion, and even with a heart monitor, he still pushed me. Not once did Tyler allow me to let my health issues stop me from achieving my goal to be healthy and fit. It was what I needed. Tyler is much more than my trainer. Tyler is my family.

Tyler and the rest of the trainers at The Edge have motivated me so much. Thanks to The Edge, I have had the opportunity to meet so many great people. Great people who have become my "fitfam". Because of them, I have decided to study to become a personal trainer. I want to use my love and passion for fitness as well as my love & passion for people to motivate those who are struggling with the same issues I have." - Lourdes
