One may think that being a full-time mom with 3 kids would not leave anytime to achieve your fitness goals. That is definitely not the case for Lori Ubil.
Lori has achieved something which can only be accomplished by dedicated, self-discipline, and consistency. Currently, Lori has lost a total of 40 lbs in 5 months, and according to Lori, this is just the beginning.
As her trainer, I have encouraged her to change her eating habits and stay consistent in her workouts. Lori and I have our 1 on 1 training sessions in the gym as well as full access to our EDGE STRONG classes. Lori’s secret recipe, in addition to 1 on 1 training is attending at least 4 classes a week and at least one day of intense cardio.
I got a chance to sit down with Lori and have her share her experience with me. I wanted to help share her story.
What Challenges Did You Face?
One challenge I faced was not being able to do certain exercises because I was so out of shape! Another challenge for me was to change my eating habits because my diet was horrible!
What Worked For You?
The number one thing that worked for me was getting a trainer! I am so thankful for my amazing trainer, Carvelle! I needed someone to hold me accountable and to show me a better, healthier way to live! I needed someone to push me toward my goals!
Advice For Anyone Trying To Do The Same?
My advice to others trying to lose weight, get in shape, or become healthier is to NEVER GIVE UP!!! It will probably be one of the most difficult challenges you will ever face in your life both mentally and physically. Just stay focused and don’t forget your goals!
How Was Your Fitness Journey?
My fitness journey wasn’t easy! I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life. I finally decided it’s time to focus on me! My first day of training with Carvelle was on December 7, 2017, and I started the Edge Strong classes on December 11, 2017. For 2 months I faithfully went to the gym 5 days a week, attending the Edge Strong classes and meeting with Carvelle. For these 2 months my diet was still horrible! So on the first day of lent, February 14, 2018, I made the decision to cut all junk food out of my diet, drink only water, and eat healthy carbs only once a day. I didn’t tell anyone my plan because I was afraid I would fail! After 2 weeks I lost 8 pounds! This was my motivation! As time goes on I continue to eat healthy and attend the Edge Strong classes and meet with Carvelle. I still give it my all every time I go to the gym!
Future Goals?
My future goals are to continue to attend the Edge Strong classes because I love them! I will continue to meet with Carvelle for as long as I feel I need to because I owe a lot of my success to her! I will continue to eat healthier. My initial goal was to lose 50 pounds. I am only 10 pounds away from that so I want to keep going! I want to lose a total of 80 pounds and KEEP IT OFF!!! I also hope to inspire others and help motivate them to reach their goals!
I am so proud of Lori, and happy that she has chosen me to motivate and help guide her along this journey. The sky is the limit for a hard-working mother on the go. I cannot wait to see her 5 more months from now.
