Angie was raised in the foothills of Maine and most of her youth was spent on the soccer field, basketball court, or softball diamond from middle school through college.
After college, Angie was able to stay in the game by coaching middle school, high school, and community college sports teams. Angie started her fitness career at the YMCA in 2009 as a female custodian. As she got familiar with the club and her fitness journey, she transitioned into the Wellness Department. There she learned the ins and outs of group circuit classes and the beginning of her training career.
After entering motherhood, a few out of state moves, and her own weight loss journey of 70 lbs, she officially became a personal trainer at Giant Fitness in October 2020. Just when the clientele started to pick up, Angie was faced with a life altering diagnosis - Breast Cancer in February 2021. At that time, she transitioned her clients to different trainers, and stepped away from training to dedicate all of her energy to treatment and healing. It was a heartbreaking experience, but she always knew how to keep moving forward.
In the midst of treatment, relocation, and divorce, Angie knew she needed a new home gym to heal, recover, and rebuild her life, and a new gym family to support her along the way. She never heard of The Edge Fitness Clubs until searching online for open positions. She applied for an Edge Kids Coach position in November 2021. Walking into the club for her interview was her first time visiting. She was well received and felt at home. Angie was hired for a part-time position. She enjoyed connecting with members and supporting the Edge team for over two years while she went through cancer treatment, recovery, and rebuilding her life for herself and her two daughters. By May 2024, Angie made the proud transition to the training department as an Edge Personal Trainer in Deptford, NJ where she thrives working with clients and guiding them along their fitness journeys.
Through two years of cancer treatment including three major surgeries and chemotherapy, Angie learned how to navigate healing, recovery, and rebuilding strength. As a Breast Cancer Survivor, Angie knows the challenges of a comeback journey and is ready to walk alongside yours.
"The Edge is more than my workplace. The Edge is my home and family. Thank you for being part of my journey." - Angie Aulph
