Here are some frequently asked questions!

I'VE SIGNED UP FOR THE GYM, NOW WHAT?

How do I check into the club with my key tag?

1. Use the keytag you received when you joined or use your Edge App barcode to scan in at the front desk computers.

2. Listen for the “beep”.

3. Have a great workout!

What should I wear?

Typically, we recommend you go with comfortable workout pants and top.  If you are taking a class you may want to choose a more form-fitting top.  Closed toed, rubber-soled shoes are required so you’re good if you just wear sneakers! 

 

What else should I bring?

A small towel is a good idea, especially in Spinning or to use on the cardio equipment.  Most Edge locations offer small sweat towels for sale.  Bring a water bottle or you can buy water at the club!  Bring your earbuds if you want to listen to your own music or the cardio TV.

What is the club’s policy on using lockers? Do you provide locks?

Members may use a locker during their workout only.  We suggest you bring a lock with you and take it back when you are finished your workout.  All Edge locations sell combination locks.  To avoid theft, we recommend you do not bring anything of value into the club and put in a locker at any time.  

Locks left overnight will be cut off and the contents discarded.  The club is not responsible for lost items.  

How do I download the Edge App?

Download “The Edge Fitness Clubs” App.  Click here for step by step instructions.

Where can I find my barcode number?

Your barcode is located on the back of your Edge Fitness membership key-tag.  Don't have a key tag?  See the front desk team to pick this up at your next visit!

Where can I find my agreement number?

Your agreement number is located at the top right-hand side of your membership agreement. You should have received an email copy of this agreement when you joined.  You may also click here to locate.  If you need additional assistance locating this, you can call your home location and ask an Edge Fitness team member for help.

I am having difficulty downloading the app, help!

See step by step instructions here to download your app for the first time.

New Users - Troubleshooting:

After downloading The Edge App from your smart phone app store, open the app and ensure that on the second screen you are clicking the black box at the bottom to “create” your app login.  Your email on file with your Edge membership must match the email for your app.  If you are unable to login or create your login from this point, please contact digitalsupport@egym.com to have this reset.  

When you are able to create your login for the app (you can see the main tiled screen), you will need to create a second login to book classes.  You can do this in the My Account tile within the app.  If you are unable to create this login, please contact  customercare@abcfinancial.com.

Existing Users - Troubleshooting:

If you have been logged out of the app and cannot get back in, use the same email associated with your Edge membership agreement and click the Forgot Password link. This will send an email to your email address on file to reset your password. If you do not get an email right away, please check your junk or spam folders.  If you still cannot login or are having trouble resetting your password, please contact digitalsupport@egym.com to reset your login.

After you login with the temporary password, you can create a new password by following these steps:

  • Click on your initials in the top left corner 
  • Click on the pencil icon above your initials 
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to where it says "old password"
  • For the "old password" use the temporary password that was just emailed to you
  • Then submit the new password you would like to use where it says "new password"
  • Submit the same password in the "confirm new password section"
  • Click "save" in the top right corner of the screen to save your changes 

Once you are in the app, but have been prompted to login again under the  "My Account" tile, use your originally set-up username/password or scroll down to use the Forgot username or Forgot password links.  (check spam)  If you do not get an email with your temporary credentials or still cannot login, contact customercare@abcfinancial.com.

What is included in the Edge Total Membership?

Full fitness floor access, a complimentary fitness assessment, unlimited group exercise classes, access to all Edge locations*, unlimited tanning & massage (where available), Fit Pak (see below), unlimited guests (see unlimited guest section)**, unlimited Spinning, and women’s area. 12- or 24-month membership agreement is required.

*Excludes Greenwich CT after 7/30/20. Membership must be purchased in person in Greenwich, CT to have use of this location.

What is included in the Edge Fit Membership?

Full fitness floor access, a complimentary fitness assessment, unlimited group exercise classes, access to all Edge locations*, unlimited tanning & massage (where available), and Fit Pak (see below). 12 or 24-month membership agreement is required.

What is included in the Edge Red Membership?

Full fitness floor access, a complimentary fitness assessment, and single club access. 12- or 24-month membership agreement is required.

How do I upgrade my membership?

You may upgrade your membership at anytime by stopping by your home club and asking to upgrade your membership or submit your request here to have someone help you get started.

Is there any professional guidance included with my membership? 

The Edge provides a complimentary one-hour Fitness Assessment with every yearly membership.  This will give you a starting point with a personalized fitness program based on your fitness goals. Whether you are looking to lose weight, build muscle, or feel healthier, we have a plan for you. Through the body transformation plan you will receive your first week of workouts to help you get started on the right foot. Your goal is our goal! Let’s get you started on your fitness journey! 

Included in your Fitness Assessment is:

  • 30 min workout with a Certified Personal Trainer
  • Body Transformation Plan
  • Inbody Analysis –get your starting point
  • 4 week program
What is included in the Fit Pak?

Our Fit Pak includes a one-time complimentary nutritional plan set-up with software access.  The Fit Pak also includes one complimentary Edge Strong class per month and one Inbody measurement analysis per month.  See the front desk to schedule any of these services today!

AMENITIES 

How does the tanning work?

Tanning can be reserved in the club only. 

  1. Find the Tanning kiosk outside of the Tanning area
  2. Select the time you want to go tanning (press the green time slot)
  3. Scan your key tag or barcode on your cell phone or enter your phone# manually
  4. Collect your printed ticket
  5. At your scheduled time, bring your ticket to a front desk consultant to turn the booth or bed on
  6. You will have three minutes to get ready before the booth turns on
How do I sign up for a massage?

Massage can be reserved in the club only. 

  1. Find the Massage kiosk outside of the Massage area
  2. Select the time you want to go (press the green time slot)
  3. Scan your key tag or barcode on your cell phone or enter phone manually
  4. Collect your printed ticket
  5. At your scheduled time, bring your ticket to a front desk consultant to turn the massage bed/chair on
  6. Use the remote to turn the bed/chair on
What movie is playing in the Cinema today? When does it start?

The fastest way to find out what the movie of the day for your club is, is to look on our app.  Open the app and click on the tile that says Edge Cinema. You can also see the schedule hanging outside of the Cinema.

The movie of the day loops continuously.  We do not provide start times.

I want to bring my child, how much is Edge Kids?

For pricing, contact your home location as Edge Kids pricing varies by state.

What rules do I need to know about the Sauna?

Sauna rules are as follows:

  1. Those with medical conditions (including pregnancy) should consult a physician before using the sauna.
  2. Please limit yourself to a maximum of 10 minutes.
  3. No shoes allowed. Flip flops or water shoes are permitted.
  4. No drying of personal items permitted.
  5. Do not touch the heating element or sauna temperature controls. Tampering with heating equipment including use of water or any other liquids is strictly prohibited. Violations may result in loss of membership privileges.

EDGE GUEST POLICY

What is the Edge Guest Policy?

Any member is welcome to bring a local guest for one complimentary workout.  Each individual local guest may only attend one time every six months (does not apply to Unlimited Guests of Edge Total members).  All local guests must be state residents (ID required) of the club you are visiting.  Guests between the ages of 13-17 must be signed in by a parent or guardian.  Guests that are 13 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while using the facility.  Out of town guests may pay a daily fee to work out with you, with proper ID.

I have the Edge Total membership. What does unlimited guests mean?

Edge Total membership holders may bring one guest per visit*. The member must be present with the guest at check-in and guests are required to sign into the club at the front desk every visit.  Unlimited guests have access to one group exercise or spin class on their first visit. Guests will have access to the fitness floor and locker rooms only and guests must abide by all club rules and regulations.  Age restriction listed in Edge Guest Policy above applies.

Can I take pictures of other members?

For the overall enjoyment of others, cell phones may not be used for telephone calls while on the workout floor or during classes.  Cell phone use of any kind is not permitted while on a piece of equipment or in the locker rooms. Taking pictures or videos of other members without their direct consent is strictly prohibited and may result in loss of membership privileges. 

THE EDGE FITNESS CLUBS GYM ETIQUETTE 

Can I take my shoes off when lifting weights?

Closed toed, rubber soled shoes are required in all areas of the gym except during Mind Body classes such as Yoga and Pilates.

Can I use my cell phone on the fitness floor?

For the overall enjoyment of others, cell phones may not be used for telephone calls while on the workout floor or during classes.  Cell phone use of any kind is not permitted while on a piece of equipment or in the locker rooms. Taking pictures or videos of other members without their direct consent is strictly prohibited and may result in loss of membership privileges. 

How do I connect to the club WiFi?

Go to your wifi settings in your phone and choose The Edge-Guest.  You will be re-directed to The Edge-Guest login.  Scroll down and click "Continue to the Internet" to stay logged in.  Enjoy your workout!

Do I have to rack my own weights?

We ask members to put any loose weights/free weights back where they belong for the courtesy of all members, especially in cases where heavy weight are being used.

Do I have to clean my own equipment once I'm done using it?

As a courtesy to all members, we ask you to please wipe your cardio & strength equipment, free weights, and mats down after use.  We provide hospital grade disinfectant wipes throughout the club for your convenience.

Can I use chalk at The Edge during weight training?

Use of chalk is strictly prohibited anywhere in the facility in all Edge locations.  Violations may result in loss of membership privileges. 

What other general management policies does the club enforce?

Management of the club may suspend or cancel the rights, privileges, or membership of any club member whose actions are detrimental to the enjoyment of the facilities by other members or any conduct which in the opinion of the management is prejudicial to the welfare, good order, and character of the club.  Any inappropriate behavior i.e. profanity or yelling, incidental to the enjoyment of the club by other members may result in membership termination without a refund and enrollment fee shall be forfeited.
