FEATURES

How do I adjust the volume in class?

If you’re streaming a class on a desktop or laptop, you’ll see volume controls on many classes that allow you to control the volume of the music and the instructor’s voice separately. 

*Please note, for Les Mills and Zumba classes you will not be able to adjust the volume of the music and instructor’s voice separately.

 

How do I use the two-way feature?

This feature allows you to interact with each other as well as the instructor in every live stream class session. You have the option to share their video upon entering their live or on-demand workout.

✔️Class chat with the instructor 

Turn on 2-way video in live & on-demand classes for real-time interaction or feedback with the instructor and other participants.

What are the social features?

The leaderboard will show you every member who is in class with you virtually. Next to each member’s name is their sweat score, which is determined by the number of minutes they have watched the class on our virtual platform. 

If you click on the chat bubble you’ll open the group chat, which allows you to type a message or send an emoji to the entire class.

You can add other participants to your crew or direct message them by clicking the chat bubble next to their name. 

 

Can I save or share a class I loved?

Yes! On the class page, you can click the heart icon to save a class in your “favorites”, or the arrow icon to share that class out to social media.

PLATFORM QUESTIONS

Who has access?

Right now Edge Total Access+ is a premium amenity included in our Total memberships at no additional charge. Your membership must be active to gain access. We will have ongoing free trials for members to test the system. In the future, we will create add-ons for other memberships as well.  Stand alone virtual memberships will also be available in areas where we don't have physical locations.

How do I access the platform?
Pull up the welcome email you received and click the “Access Now” link.  You will be asked for your email to create a password.  Please use the email address associated with your Edge Fitness Clubs membership, otherwise, you will not be able to access the system.  Once you input your email, you will receive a link to create a password, then you are all set to log in!
I'm locked out. How do I reset my password?

On the login page, all you need to do is click “forgot password” and you’ll receive a link in your email inbox to set up a new password.

How can I find a class?
  • From the homepage of the platform, you can scroll down to find classes that are on-demand separated out by genre or class type. 
  • You can also click into the search field on the top right and hit enter. This will bring you to a search page where you can find the class you are looking for based on duration, instructor name, class type, difficulty level, etc.

Where can I access my personal information?

Click on your profile in the top right corner of the website. From here, you can upload a profile photo of yourself and check out your personal “favorites” or “completed” classes.

 

When joining a live class, the screen still says “Class is starting soon!”
If you join a class prior to the start time, you will be placed in the waiting room until the class begins.  If the class does not automatically start, refresh your browser and you will be entered into the live stream. When you join a class that says it is currently live, you will enter the live class in progress.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

What device is best to stream from?

For the most optimal workout experience, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer to stream our classes. You can also use your phone, iPad, TV, etc. as long as your devices are up-to-date. 

Update Your Devices

If you're playing a class session on another device, you must ensure you are running the latest version to hear the music and instructor as seamlessly as possible. 

  • If you are using a MacBook please ensure you are running on macOS 10.15.6 or higher
  • For iOS devices, please update to iOS version 14 or iPadOS 14
    • Older iOS devices may cause issues with the audio either not playing or cutting out.  This will be fixed when we roll out our iOS App in the near future.
  • For Android devices, use Android version 9 and higher
  • All music controls will work best on Google Chrome
How can I customize the volume?

We're excited to be able to provide a tool that will provide more flexibility for each class, allowing you to customize how you listen to your workouts in real-time. 

In some of our classes, depending on the instructor’s music choices, Music Playlist Controls allow you to amp up the music or instructor voice by sliding this bar to the right. This function is only available on a laptop/desktop computer.

  • If you are using an iPhone, you won't see this control available. 
    • To increase the instructor's voice, please use the volume buttons on the side of your iPhone device.
  • The Apple iPad Safari browser does not support on-screen volume controls. 
    • We recommend using an iPhone or laptop device to stream content and adjust the volume accordingly. 
How do I watch video streams on my TV?

Below are some suggestions for projecting video streams onto your TV!

Mirror through a mobile device - iPhone / iPad device owners

  • Option 1 - If you also own an Apple TV, you can use AirPlay to wirelessly mirror your device's screen and audio.  Note: if you can see the video but don't hear audio after following the steps in the guide, try these two troubleshooting steps.
  • Option 2 - Connect with a cable.  Use one of Apple's Digital Audio/Video (AV) Adapters to connect your device to a TV via any standard HDMI cable (e.g. AmazonBasics).  Links to the two adapters are provided below (make sure the top of the adapter matches the cable that you currently use to charge your iPhone/iPad device).

 

Casting from a mobile device - Android device owners

Primary option: If you also own a Chromecast, you can cast your Android screen by following these instructions.

Mirroring from a laptop / desktop / PC

Option 1 - Connect with an HDMI cable. Most laptops, desktops, or PCs have a HDMI port that looks like the following:

If you have one of these ports, it's as simple as connecting a HDMI cable (e.g. AmazonBasics) to your TV!

If your MAC has a Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C port, then you can purchase a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter to mirror your screen to a TV via an HDMI cable.

If your MAC has a Thunderbolt 2 / Mini DisplayPort, then you can purchase a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter to mirror your screen.

Option 2 - If you are a Windows user, use the Chrome browser, and own a Chromecast device, you can cast from the Chrome browser directly.  See this webpage for more details.
Are there any other system requirements?
We support browser-based video playback on most computers and mobile devices. Log in to the virtual platform on a browser of your choice (e.g. Chrome or Safari), click on the live or on-demand class you want to watch, and the video should start streaming!
Supported Browsers:
  • Google Chrome version 37 or later on
  • Windows 8.1 or later, Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) or later, and Android device 4.0 or later
  • Internet Explorer 11 or later on Windows 8.1 or later
  • Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
  • Mozilla Firefox version 47 or later on
  • Windows 8.1 or later and Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) or later
  • Safari on Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) or later, or iOS 6 or later
Speed Recommendations

Below are the Internet download speed recommendations for watching each video stream.
  • 0.5 Megabits per second - Required minimum connection speed
  • 1.5 Megabits per second - Recommended broadband connection speed
  • 3.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for SD quality
  • 5.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for HD quality

Please note, higher quality video uses more bandwidth than lower quality video. If your service provider applies a bandwidth or data cap to your Internet service, you can change the video quality settings (lower right-hand corner of the video player window) to a lower quality to consume less data.

When I try to log in, it gives me a reset password link.

This is standard. Once you input your email associated with your Edge membership, the system will send you a link to create a login.

When I try to log in, it's giving me an ‘email isn’t found’ message.
