Why You Need Omega-3 Fatty Acids in Your Diet

Fat is such a scary word to most.  There are so many forms of fat that most don’t know where to begin and just use a blanket statement saying “fat is bad.”  On the contrary, though, not all fat is bad.  There is such a thing as essential fats.  They are “good"  because they are required to keep us alive!   There are two essential fatty acids; Alpha-linoleic acid (an Omega 3) and linoleic acid (an Omega 6).  Let us narrow our attention to the Omega 3.  Not only does ingesting Omega 3 allow us to obtain fats essential to our biological processes, but also provides us with many other benefits.  Now, if you are eating fish 2-4x a week you need not worry, you are getting plenty of omega 3’s into your body.  However, if you are like me and you don’t eat that much fish than you are a prime candidate for supplementation of Omega 3s.

The SuperOmega made by Dotfit is in a league of its own.  The most important part of this supplement (aside from all its benefits I will explain later) is the ratio of EPA and DHA.  EPA and DHA are the two long-chain fatty acids found in omega 3s.  When converted in the body, we have now created a supply of ALA (alpha-linoleic acid).  It is VERY IMPORTANT that these are in a 3 to 2 ratio (EPA to DHA).  Studies show that this is optimal for preservation of overall health.  Expert recommendations for humans calls for a minimum of 500mg daily.  The scary part is that average American consumption is about 128/mg per day.  Supplementing with omega 3’s has many benefits such as keeping the pericardial tissue intact, rejuvenating brain cells, alleviating arthritic joint pain, lower cholesterol, and stimulating weight loss.  One capsule of the DotFit SuperOmega will provide you with all you need to reap the many benefits of Omega 3s.  Give your health status a boost and start supplementing with this OR start eating fish more!  Talk to your closest Fitness professional about them.  Make sure what you take is researched based and third party tested (like Dotfit).  Happy Health!
