Boy, do my butt cheeks hurt! What a great workout with Abbey today! We focused on the GLUTES and worked muscles I've never worked before. The best part of the workout was that each exercise was a basic exercise with a TWIST to it if you will. We did squats WITH the resistance band around my legs... we did hip bridges WITH a leg up AND on a bosu ball... we did the abduction machine WITH reps focusing on each part of the muscle... top half, bottom half, and then full range of motion. I could barely walk up the Trumbull stairs halfway through the workout (hence my face in the pictures)!  Abbey was great at motivating me through the entire workout and her smile and laugh was contagious--- it helped me breathe! She was also great with demoing these exercises to make sure I was doing everything correctly... ya gotta do it the right way! Until next week... have a great workout!

Workout:


Warm Up:

  • Mini band monster walks
  • Lateral walks
  • Bird Dog
  • Hip Flexor Stretch

Circuit 1: 3 Rounds - rest 1 minute in between each round

  • Banded barbell sumo squat x10
  • Banded sumo jump squat x10

Circuit 2: 3 Rounds - rest 1 minute in between each round

  • Pause at the top- foot and hip elevated SL thrust x10 each leg
  • 15 Kettlebell swings

Circuit 3: 3 Rounds - rest 1 minute in between each round

  • Single leg box squat x10 each leg
  • 30 Seated abduction
  • 10 full range of motion
  • 10 top half
  • 10 bottom half
